Peerly 2026 Midterm Retrospective

By November 4, 2026News

midterm port mortem, midterm elections

Congratulations to our clients on a hard-fought 2026 midterm election. Thank you for trusting Peerly and for helping shape what we built over the past two years.

Together, we brought sharper video into text conversations, improved the tools behind campaign outreach and made texting more affordable. We welcomed hundreds of new clients into the Peerly family, while longtime partners kept challenging us to improve. The result was a cycle of meaningful progress, including millions of dollars in client savings.

That progress belongs to the people who leaned into new ideas, tested them in real campaign work and helped make them better.

Built with the people doing the work

Our clients brought ideas, participated in beta testing and gave us candid feedback. You helped us understand which changes mattered, where a workflow needed attention and what would make a new feature more useful. Taking time to test something unfamiliar during a demanding campaign is a real contribution. We are grateful for it.

Those conversations helped guide improvements across our front end and back end. We improved platform speeds, refined the experience clients use every day and strengthened the systems behind it. For teams balancing deadlines, budgets and voter conversations, a faster, easier platform gives them more time to focus on the work that brought them here.

The lesson we are carrying forward is straightforward: clients need a voice in the technology they rely on. Your willingness to experiment helped turn promising ideas into practical improvements.

Sharper video and a direct conversation
midterms, video in motion

We entered this Midterm cycle with momentum. Peerly’s video messaging grew by more than 3,000% in 2024. That growth helped set the stage for the October 2025 launch of Video In-Motion, building on our earlier work with TruHD video.

Video In-Motion brought up to 4K clarity to short video messages, alongside captions, thumbnails and two-way replies. A candidate’s voice, a local story or a clear explanation could become part of a direct conversation. Recipients could respond, ask a question or take the next step. For clients willing to rethink how they used video, this created more room to tell their stories.

Evidence from elsewhere in the industry reinforced the opportunity. In September 2026, Cross Screen Media reported on a Battleground Impact test involving 50,000 voters across two media markets. The market receiving video texts recorded an ad-recall increase 16 percentage points greater than the control market. That separate study offers encouraging evidence for the channel and for pairing strong creative with direct outreach.

Our clients helped move that idea into everyday campaign practice. Their adoption and feedback gave us more to learn from as we continued improving the format.

Recognition for work we built together

This work received recognition across the industry’s major awards programs. Peerly earned the Gold Award for Innovation in Texting at the 2025 CampaignTech Awards. In 2026, we received the Reed Award for Best Use of Mobile Technology and the Pollie Gold Award for Best AI-Enhanced Voter Engagement Strategy.

We appreciate that recognition, and we know how much client participation contributed to the work behind it. Every useful suggestion, beta test and campaign willing to try a new approach helped us improve. The awards are milestones in a much broader collaboration.

Making Midterm campaign budgets go further
spotlight

Some of the most consequential work this cycle happened in our pricing. We rebuilt it from the ground up, renegotiated contracts and passed savings along to clients. Across our client base, those changes saved millions of dollars.

Spotlight was an important part of that effort. It identifies numbers eligible for lower-cost delivery and shows clients the pricing for their particular lists. That gives teams a clearer view of where savings are available and what their outreach will cost.

Across our broader pricing changes and Spotlight, some clients reduced texting costs by as much as 70%. Results depended on previous pricing, list composition and the traffic eligible for lower-cost delivery. The purpose was consistent: give clients more room in their budgets to reach the people who mattered to their campaigns.

Savings can give a team the option to add another round of outreach, put more resources into creative or preserve funds for the final stretch. Those are decisions clients should be able to make with clear pricing in front of them. We are proud that improving the economics of texting became such a substantial part of this cycle’s work.

What we take into the next cycle

This midterm cycle showed how much progress is possible when clients and their technology partners build together. You helped us improve the platform, expand what video texting could do and make outreach more affordable.

Together, we have helped raise expectations for campaign technology. We intend to keep listening, testing and improving, with your experience guiding what comes next.

Congratulations on a hard-fought midterm election. Thank you for your ideas, your candor and your trust. We are proud to stand with our clients, and proud of what we accomplished together.
